Senior Lean Consultant

Position Summary:

Our Client Services group in Northern California has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Lean Consultant. The Senior Lean Consultant is responsible for initiating, developing, implementing and professionally managing Lean Transformation projects with small, medium, and Fortune 50 clients in a variety of manufacturing industry segments.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist clients in their Lean Enterprise Transformation through the application of Lean Production System principles.
- Initiate, develop, implement and professionally manage all aspects of client delivery, including scope, approach, work plans, and implementation.
- Responsible for business development, primarily by identifying and communicating opportunities for repeat business with existing clients.
- Frequent contact with clients and internal staff to communicate client deliverables and review of project status.
- Operations/process and data analysis to support salient recommendations and implementation.
- Coaching, planning and training at all levels of the client organization.
- Working independently and in teams (both with other Incito Consulting Group professionals and with client teams).
- An interest and desire to assist with the development of new consulting methodologies and tools, including training materials.
- A commitment to personal and professional development.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience applying and teaching Lean Principles related to or derived from the Toyota Production System and philosophies including; 8 forms of waste, 5S, Visual Factory, Standardized Work, Value Stream Mapping, TPM, Kanban, SMED, and Kaizen.
- Ability to liaise, influence, challenge effectively and build relationships at senior management, steering committee, and associate levels.
- Excellent Project Management and organizational skills.
- Ability to facilitate rapid-improvement Kaizen workshops.
- Outstanding written and spoken communication skills, including communicating ideas easily and effectively to diverse audiences, small and large.
- Sound business understanding and risk awareness.
- Ability to facilitate both improvement teams and management meetings
- Conflict resolution skills
- Prior experience as an internal or external consultant
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Quality Certification programs desirable
Desirable Experience:
- 4 year technical or business degree. Advanced degree or a second degree that provides cross-functional skills a plus.
- Five years experience consulting to manufacturers, distributors, or supply chains, or working in a manufacturing facility in an internal consulting or implementation-lead capacity.
- Minimum of 3 years Toyota Production System or lean implementation experience.
- 2 years of management experience involving supervision of staff
- Business Development capabilities (either new business sales or penetration of existing accounts)
- Skilled and comfortable with use of personal computers and software tools such as MS Office applications, (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook).
- Project Management experience required
- Bilingual a plus.
